The Reset vs. The Revision: Which Facial Is Right for You?

Not every facial is built for the same job, and at The Plump Room, we designed The Reset and The Revision to work at two very different depths. One is built for consistency and upkeep. The other is built for correction. Both are fully customized in the room based on what your skin needs that day, which means no two appointments ever look exactly the same. Here’s how to know which one belongs on your calendar.

The Reset: 75 Minutes | $450

The Reset is a customized treatment designed to rebalance, clear, and support your skin. It’s built for maintenance, for acne-prone skin, and for anyone who wants a reliable way to keep their complexion in check month to month.

Depending on what your skin is showing us that day, your session might include targeted exfoliation or a gentle peel, extractions, hydration, LED therapy, and calming support like cold therapy or an infusion, all selected in real time rather than following a fixed protocol.

The Reset is the right call if:

  • You’re new to clinical facials and want a low-commitment starting point
  • You’re managing occasional breakouts and need consistent upkeep, not a deep intervention
  • You already have a stable skin routine and just want a monthly reset to stay ahead of it

Think of The Reset as your skin’s regular check-in, the appointment that keeps things calm, clear, and on track before anything becomes a bigger concern.

The Revision: 90 Minutes | $750

The Revision goes deeper. It’s a results-driven treatment designed to correct and strengthen the skin through advanced layering, combining more intensive techniques in a single visit to address concerns that The Reset isn’t built to touch.

Sessions may include advanced exfoliation or peeling, dermaplaning when appropriate, nano or liquid microneedling, targeted infusion, focused spot-laser corrections, LED therapy, and cold therapy, strategically layered based on your goals. Because of that intensity, minimal downtime of one to three days should be expected.

The Revision is the right call if:

  • You’re dealing with acne, pigment, inflammation, or early signs of aging that need more than upkeep
  • You’ve already completed a series of Resets, your skin is stable, and you’re ready for deeper correction
  • You want to address texture or pigment concerns with a treatment built for long-term change, not just a same-day glow

They’re Not Competing; They’re Sequential

The most common question we get isn’t really “which one is better,” it’s “which one do I start with.” For most patients, the answer is The Reset. It gives us, and your skin, a chance to see how you respond to treatment, build a foundation, and confirm things are stable before layering in anything more advanced.

Once your skin has settled into that rhythm, The Revision becomes the next step: the appointment that goes after the concerns a monthly reset can’t fully resolve, stubborn pigment, textural changes, or the early signs of aging that benefit from a more strategic approach.

Some patients stay in The Reset rotation indefinitely because that’s exactly what their skin needs. Others move between the two, using Resets to maintain and Revisions to periodically push results further. Neither is a “better” option, they’re built for different points in your skin’s journey.

How We Decide Together

Because both treatments are customized in real time, your first session, whichever one you start with, is really a conversation as much as a treatment. We’ll look at what your skin is doing right now, ask about your history with facials and other treatments, and build the session around that, not a preset menu.

If you’re not sure where to start, that’s a completely normal place to be. Book a consultation with us in Coral Gables, and we’ll help you figure out whether The Reset, The Revision, or a plan that moves between the two is the right fit for your skin.
